The Church of Jesus Christ began a little less the 2000 years ago. It was built by Jesus on the foundation that He is the Rock, the one and only Son of God. Lancaster Christian Church began a little over 150 years ago. We are part of a movement of churches that seek to “restore” New Testament Christianity to contemporary times. We believe the Bible to be the inerrant Word of God and that the New Testament contains a pattern of how the church is to function. We strive to follow that pattern. We believe Jesus died on a cross, was buried in a borrowed tomb, and the He rose from the dead three days later. His death provides the only way for our sins to be forgiven. This is called salvation and we receive it by grace through faith in Him. We believe this gift is accepted by hearing the Word, believing in Jesus, changing your focus from yourself to God, confessing your belief that Jesus is the Messiah, being immersed for the forgiveness of sins, and then living under the guidance of the Holy Spirit and Word of God.
